These are really challenging tasks for me and I have learnt a lot from it.
Columbia Missourian has a policy to identify the suspect by race or anything that can be changed, such as clothing or hairstyle. Context: we used to identify it by race, but the results usually turned out very different.
It is hard to get information from the police, but you can do enough research and ask key questions.
Casenet and the probable cause statement got from the courthouse is useful.
Do not be afraid to challenge police in the press conference. I asked four or five questions, although they did not answer all of these.
Please do not use the "police speak", try to make it less bureaucratic.
