These are really challenging tasks for me and I have learnt a lot from it.

  1. Columbia Missourian has a policy to identify the suspect by race or anything that can be changed, such as clothing or hairstyle. Context: we used to identify it by race, but the results usually turned out very different.

  2. It is hard to get information from the police, but you can do enough research and ask key questions.

  3. Casenet and the probable cause statement got from the courthouse is useful.

  4. Do not be afraid to challenge police in the press conference. I asked four or five questions, although they did not answer all of these.

  5. Please do not use the "police speak", try to make it less bureaucratic.

this event may be a little bit controversial to me. As a Chinese, I actually feels the atomic bombing happened in 1945 really saves millions of lives in China from war. But the main take away is to stay open-minded, listening to all kinds of ideas and reflecting on the current issues. I think what Mark Haim really wants to deliver is his hope for peace. That is an important message in nowadays world, when China and the United States used the pandemic to blame each other...
